Job Description

Logic is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our team and support projects across our company, with emphasis on electric utilities capital projects. This comprehensive role integrates scheduling, cost/financial controls, and document controls functions to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing all aspects of project controls while leading a team of specialists and delivering exceptional service to clients.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and management of detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, including resource loading and critical path method (CPM) analysis
  • Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, and earned value management systems to ensure financial control
  • Establish and maintain project documentation systems, including version control, distribution, and archiving processes
  • Lead a team of project controls specialists across scheduling, cost analysis, and document control functions
  • Provide mentorship, professional development, and performance management for team members
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding all project controls matters
  • Review and approve schedule updates and ensure proper resource allocation across project lifecycles
  • Direct the preparation of comprehensive project status reports integrating schedule, cost, and documentation metrics
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of project cost reports and financial dashboards
  • Lead client meetings to present integrated project controls information and status updates
  • Integrate schedule and cost controls to provide unified project performance metrics and forecasting
  • Analyze variances and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Support contract administration, including change order evaluation and claims analysis
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and standards across all project deliverables
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations to clients
  • Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects based on priorities and requirements
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the project controls team
  • Develop and implement innovative project controls solutions tailored to client needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in project controls, with at least 3 years in a management role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera P6), cost control systems, and document management platforms
  • Experience managing project controls for utility construction projects, particularly electric utilities undergrounding
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven experience supervising multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding communication and client relationship management capabilities
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification
  • Experience with integrated project controls software platforms
  • Knowledge of utility industry regulations and standards
